Restaurant Technology Innovator, Venture Architect, Investor and Entrepreneur

Michael L. Atkinson is a multi-faceted operator, investor, and innovator living at the intersection of restaurants and technology. Based in Dallas, he is the founding CEO of Bailiwick Ventures, Inc., (BV) and founder of the Bailiwick Venture Studio, a subsidiery of BV which creates, and builds a portfolio of next-generation restaurant technology (ResTech) startups.

His perspective is forged from over 30+ years of direct experience as an investment banker (executing over 250 transactions), a multi-brand restaurant operator, a multi-unit chain CFO and ResTech entrepreneur, and Venture Architect. These experiences offers a unique vantage point - seeing the industry from finance, operations, and technology perspective - led Michael to identify the foundational crisis of data anarchy.

Data anarchy needs a solution because its a problem, particularily in ther AI era. To address this, he spearheaded the design, system architecture and development of FohBoh.ai, the restaurant industry’s first certified intelligence platform, built for the global $4.5T foodservice industry. FohBoh is powered by MGE (Metrics Governance Engine), design and buil t by Michael to power FohBoh | Sentry and FohBoh | Cortex, a native AI platform to provide actional insights to restaurnt operators and chain supervisors. Cortex is the only restaurant intelligence platform that certifies its data. Sentry is a non-AI platform powered by MGE to empower restaurant operators and retailers with cerified documentation to recovery recover revevenue from "Metrics Leakage", a $48 billion problem that needs a better solution like Sentry.

FohBoh.ai integrates directly with core systems to deliver role-specific, actionable certified intelligence, creating a single source of operational truth.

This journey yielded a critical insight: before intelligence can be actionable, it must first be trusted. He has now codified this first principle in his forthcoming book, The Certified Enterprise - Taming Data Anarchy in the AI Era, providing leaders with the practical blueprint they need to replace data chaos with certified trust and build a future-proof business.

As a Venture & Systems Architect, Michael leads the creation, design and strategy for the Bailiwick Venture Studio.

Beyond technology, Michael is also co-founder, with The Beach Boys’ Mike Love, of Club Kokomo Spirits and the award-winning Seven Caves Distillery, and investor and developer of QuikFix.ai, a certified home and commercial services platform poweed by MGE.
